Grand Opening!

We had a blast night at the grand opening for our new office. It was an amazing intimate event and thanks so much to everyone who came out. Melissa from Flowers Etc. did a beautiful job with the flowers and Brian with Imonelli prepared some awesome food. If you are planning a wedding they are definitely the people to trust! The office looks fantastic and a big thanks to Tim Walker for working so hard on the space for us! He is the one who did all of the work on the space and made sure to carry out our vision in every detail.

Thanks as well to Kat for helping us get everything together, as well as Daniel & Val my new office mates (I will include both of their websites below). I can't wait to see what the next couple years has in store for all of us!

Suzanne Perron Gowns & Brides.com competition!

I have been shooting a bit for my good friend and gown designer Suzanne Perron, finishing up a project that will turn into a book published by LSU press. Needless to say, it has been amazing to work on and I was so honored that she chose me to work with her. A couple of weeks ago she called me ecstatic that one of her gowns had made it to the finals for a brides.com competition. This past week we had the chance to photograph the gown again and I just wanted to post a link to the competition. On the road....

I have been a bit behind the last week or two with blogging as I have been on the road a bit. I have been shooting a bit of commercial work which I have been enjoying. I just wanted to share a couple from a shoot that Jamie was helping me on... He was "testing the light" for me. More updates soon!

Jackson's Smile

Things have been a little hectic with the crazy wedding season being full force, but I just wanted to take a chance to post something a little different. I was just visiting my good friend Riccis Valladares' blog and wanted to share something that he is doing. You will have to goto his site to view the entire story, but he and a bunch of photographers are selling prints to help give a child (Jackson) a smile. Jackson was born with "Simpson Golabi Behmel" as well as a cleft lip & palate, and the funds raised by the print sales will go towards the surgeries that he will need to give him a smile.

There are several great photographers involved in the website and there are really some fantastic prints being offered.

I am ordering a print from Riccis and I encourage everyone to go online and get a print for this awesome cause.

This week I had the opportunity to spend some time with my good friend Ben Spell, who was in from photography school in Massachusetts, shooting some for Parish to Parish and other personal work. On our way out to Parks, LA we passed by a house that caught my eye and I knew that we had to stop in. Mr. Babineaux gladly allowed us to photograph him and his house and shared a bit of his life with us in the process. Right now I am entering the craziest time for me in the year and it was so refreshing to slow down, take out my camera, and spend some time with a stranger. I need to do that more often. Out of town...

Camera Club - November!

I just wanted to throw up a quick post to let everyone know that we are having camera club this coming Thursday @ Starbucks on the corner of Pinhook & Kaliste Saloom. We will be starting around 6 and will have a fun activity and take home assignment.
