Early this week I had the chance to spend two days in New Orleans catching up friends and shooting a bit for myself. Alot of these were shot between 5:45-7am around the french quarter.. Beth & Jamie's Engagements

Camera Club - September!

Blue Cross Angel Awards - Day 6

Wow is all that I can say about today. We interviewed Ms. Chris at her underground house in Minden LA (it was not a typo, it is an actual underground house!) It was amazing to hear her story and see some of the kids that have been affected by her life with the arts. Blessings. Jason

We headed up North these past couple days and our first stop was Shreveport Louisiana to spend some time with Mr. Ray (or as he would correct me "Ray"). It was great to see the work he is doing in developing leaders through service learning. We had the chance to see the community garden where high school students have given their time to help revitalize a neighborhood. Here are just a couple images from our time with him. Blessings. Alonda & Mario are married!

Alonda & Maria had a beautiful ceremony and reception at L'Eglise this Saturday. Their entire day was craziness as Mario and Alonda's father got in a wreck on the way to the ceremony and had to goto the hospital to be checked out. Thankfully both of them were ok and they were even able to miss the rain for the ceremony. Here are just a couple from their wedding... Blessings. Jason

Blue Cross Angel Awards - Day 3

Yesterday we got a chance to hear Ms. Dee's story about how she works with children who are coming into the foster care system by giving them stuffed animals and something safe to go into the uncertain world that they are thrown into. Today we had the chance to spend some time and photograph Ms. Carolyn, who works with volunteers in the public school system in Baton Rouge. We shot in total for 10 hours today, so needless to say we were all exhausted. Here are just a couple... Blessings. Jason

Blue Cross Angel Awards - Day 1

I have been behind a bit on blogging so I thought that I would just share a little bit of work from a project that I will be working on in the next couple weeks. Every year Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana gives money to people who are "angels" in their community and I have the honor of photographing the people who are finalists for this years Angel Awards. Hurricane Gustav - A visual story

Yesterday I had the chance to shoot a bit in a couple of the harder hit areas that were affected by Gustav. It was amazing talking to the people down there and the common thread among everyone was hope. I am working on a slideshow with audio interviews, but I wanted to be able to give a quick preview.... This shot is of a priest who is praying inside of the steeple that blew off his church during the storm.

M8 Shots of the week - Hurricane Gustav Recovery

Jen & I had an opportunity to help out a little bit this week at United Way working with Food Net to put together food boxes for areas that were hit hard with the hurricane. This week has been a bit crazy since the hurricane and it was great to get out and help a little bit. I just wanted to share a little bit since I didn't get a chance to shoot much this week until today. Michelle & Josh are Married!

Bethany & I had the chance to join Michelle & Josh this weekend for their beautiful wedding in River Ranch, with their ceremony in Town Square and reception following at City Club. It was such a beautiful ceremony and I am so glad that they missed hurricane Gustav by a couple days :) Thanks to Josh & Michelle for having us and congratulations! I will be out of the office until Thursday or Friday, as I need to put the office back together from the hurricane prep :) Here are a couple images.... Blessings. Jason

Sean & Tory are married!

Sean & Tory had a beautiful wedding this past Saturday, with the ceremony at East Bayou and reception at River Oaks (Melissa from Flowers Etc. did a fantastic job on the flowers). Tory is originally from Las Vegas and it was great getting a chance to know her during the engagements in Dallas and up until the wedding. Luckily we were were able to miss the rain (see the first picture) and we had some incredible images from the day. We actually stopped on the way from the wedding to the reception which was awesome and got some of my favorite shots of the day. Here are just a couple... Blessings. Jason

Camera Club - The results!

First off let me just say thanks to everyone who came tonight to join us for the first "camera club." I really had a great time meeting everyone and hearing about your passion for photography and learning. Sometimes it is nice to drop all of the formalities of the photography business and just talk with other people about their love for taking pictures. I hope that everyone comes out again next time and I will be keeping updates on the blog as soon as we decide all of the specifics. Join us for the first ever Camera Club meeting...

After talking to alot of people over the last couple months and I came up with the idea to have a "Camera Club" just to get together with other people who enjoy taking pictures. There are no requirements to come other than just that you have a passion for photography, not matter on what level you are at. Feel free and bring a camera or some pictures if you want to get some feedback or just come with yourself. It should be alot of fun and I am really hoping for a good turn out... So much that the I will buy drinks for the first 10 people who show up :) I am going to leave this post up for a couple days on the top of my blog... Be sure and scroll down for recent work...
