M8 shots of the week - Ernest Babineaux

This week I had the opportunity to spend some time with my good friend Ben Spell, who was in from photography school in Massachusetts, shooting some for Parish to Parish and other personal work. On our way out to Parks, LA we passed by a house that caught my eye and I knew that we had to stop in. Mr. Babineaux gladly allowed us to photograph him and his house and shared a bit of his life with us in the process. Right now I am entering the craziest time for me in the year and it was so refreshing to slow down, take out my camera, and spend some time with a stranger. I need to do that more often. Below are just a couple images that were my favorites.

Hannah & Jarrid Engagements

Last week I had the chance to spend some time with Hannah & Jarrid on their engagements in Breaux Bridge. You may remember a somewhat recent blog post that I had with Hannah's head shots (she is the amazing coordinator at City Club in Lafayette). We such a good time with them and I couldn't wait to post just a couple. Jinia & Amit are Married!

All I can say is WOW! Jinia & Amit had such a beautiful wedding and we had such an amazing time! From the colors, to the ceremony, to the reception, and everything in between was incredible! Possibly one of my favorite things from the ceremony was when Jinia was carried in by several of Amit's groomsmen. At the front the ceremony Amit was waiting behind a cloth for his bride. It it such an awesome tradition in Indian weddings that I always looking forward to... Here is just a sneak peak of a few of my favorites from their wedding.... Blessings. Jason

Melanie & Julien's Engagements in NYC!

At the time I didn't believe that it could be possible, but I think that this day was actually colder than the previous day when I did Jinia & Amit's engagements! We really had a good time in and around Hoboken and actually had a chance to shoot where they got engaged! It was so nice to spend a little time outside of the city as life just seemed to go at a much slower pace. We had a blast even with the cold and here are a few of my favorites from their session. All I can say is that these guys were real troopers on their engagements! By the end of the shoot it had gotten down to 20 degrees (if not lower) and they stuck it out the whole way through! We had a chance to shoot in central park, the meat-packing district, and finished up on their rooftop! NYC - 1st Set

I had the chance to spend some time in New York City this past week shooting, both personally and for clients, and it was so refreshing to spend so much time in front of the camera. I had such a blast just looking out for the small things and shooting strangers on the subway. One of the most amazing things that I realized was that every time I would see something it was for the first time, and I would try and shoot it as if it was completely new to me. Previously unknown. Some how I need to figure out how to approach everything that I shoot like this. I will be posting a bunch of the images every couple of days so make sure to check back.

Shanna & Jason are married!

Shanna & Jason had a beautiful wedding this weekend in River Ranch. When I first drove up I seriously thought that I had pulled up to a movie event!
