Out of town on the road this week...

This is a week that I have been looking forward to for a while... Just myself, a passenger (my good friend Jamie), my Leica (camera), and the open road... We are taking the week to just do some creative shooting before the year is up and to come away refreshed for the new year. We we will be traveling throughout Louisiana for the week and I will do my best to do a couple updates throughout the week here on my blog. The best way to get in touch with me is by email if you need anything. I hope that everyone has a fantastic week... Here is an image that I shot with my Leica last week....

Baby Aiden

One of my favorite parts about being the photographer is not so much about being behind the camera, but rather being able to be a part of someones life and story. I have been extremely blessed to be good friends with Corine & Beebe Tran in New Orleans, and they have allowed me not only into their home, but also into their story. They have come to be like my extended family in New Orleans... The first shot below was actually a shot that I had in mind to do for the birth of their first child, but just never worked out. Just about a month ago Beebe actually got another tattoo that represents himself, Corine, their two kids, and his brother Mike who passed away this June. For me the shot represents their beautiful story that they have allowed me to be a part of...

Wade Landry Santangelo.

I had the awesome opportunity today to join Christy & Clint today on one of the best days of their life, the birth of their first child (I was there for the other one... you may remember their beautiful wedding on the beach). I was so honored to be with them and their families for the amazing event. Christy ended up having to have a c-section and they picked me to go in alone with Clint (what an honor!). I tried to shoot everything leading up to the actual birth with my M8 and took out the Nikon when things started moving fast. It was really an amazing day and I wanted to share a few. A quick story before the images... When I first got to the hostpital they weren't sure what the name of their boy would be so they had a chart with votes up in the room. Christy had left it up to Clint on what his name would be and all the way until they walked into the deliver room he still had not told anyone. One of my favorite images was when the nurse asked Clint what his name would be right before the birth and he said, "His name is Wade Landry Santangelo." Christy turned and looked at him at the same time and I snaped an image quickly. This is the first image of many....

Thursday was the start of Festival International de Louisiane and I had the chance to see Sonny Landreth & The Blind Boys of Alabama. End of the week and a couple shots....

I am out this weekend for a wedding so I figured I would just post a couple pics from the last couple weeks before the weekend gets into full force. I am also going to start posting camera & lens information for the photo enthusiast out there from the m8 shots. Here are a couple and I hope that everyone has a great weekend! Blessings. Jason

Mink Clothing Photoshoot!

I have a really good friend in Baton Rouge that owns a clothing company and over coffee a couple months back we talked about scheduling a photoshoot. Well... this past Friday we were finally able to make it happen. Jamie, Ben, & I headed over and had a blast with them and all of the models. Here are just a couple... Be on the lookout for Mink clothing in a store near you! Blessings. Jason

Come by the office today (Wednesday)!

So the last couple of days at the office have really been crazy. Jamie had a shoot for The Color Bar, which consisted of 15 of their hair stylists in the office and I had a shoot for a real estate client today. Needless to say, things have been almost a blur with lots of flashes going off and lots of people coming in and out (I promise there is a point in all of this). So I was talking to Jamie today and saying how it would be fun since we have all of the lighting setup to get random people to take a really quick shot.... So here is your chance.....

Tomorrow (Wednesday February 20th) I, Jamie, or Ben will be in the office shooting from 7:30-3 (I have a bridal then or else I would leave it open until 5). I would love for you to come by and take a quick headshot, body shot, or whatever you would like shot :) Feel free to call me at the office at 337.234.0910 or send me an email through the contact page, just I know that you are coming. The address to the office can be found no my contact page and feel free to call me if you have any questions.

Just a quick note... Anyone is more than welcome to come by. You can be a customer, friend of a past bride, photographer, or just someone who stumbled across my blog. This is merely a chance to have fun and for me to experiment a little bit with shooting something that was not completely planned. I know this seems somewhat random, but if you know me you shouldn't be too surprised :) I will ask that everyone signs a model release, just so I can post them on my blog.

Thanks in advance, and I hope that you come by tomorrow, or at least tell someone to come by!

Blessings. Jason

So here is a couple shots of me... I got some good news today... which I will will post about later, but to make a long story short I photographed an annual report that won an international award in this months "How" magazine. More to come soon....

Pups...

Ben and I hung out today and photographed his uncle's dogs. His uncle is currently in Shreveport waiting on a liver transplant and Ben wanted to be able to send him a print to cheer him up. Hopefully these will provide a little sunshine to his day. Here are a couple below and keep his uncle Bill in your prayers :) Blessings. Jason

Mona's Birthday!

Yesterday I got a text message that said, "Can you be at Great Harvest Bread Co. in 1 hour?" My first thought was that this must be some type of covert operation going on so I figured it would go over. As it turns out James blindfolded Monica and drove an hour (from Baton Rouge) to get some bread from Great Harvest as a birthday surprise. It was really good to see them and here are just a couple shots from yesterday... Happy Birthday Monica!!! Blessings. Jason

Mardi Gras!

I had the chance to take a little break this past week and hang out for the day with some good friends who just happen to live right off the parade route. I took out the Leica just to snap a couple random shots from the day and here are just a couple.. Blessings. Jason

Talk about pimp my ride!

l1000118.jpg

So this was quite possibly the most interesting thing I had ever laid my eyes on. The guy who was next to it had to show off his homemade margarita mixer, which consisted of two coolers, lots of glue, and a garbage disposal!

Corine & Bebe Tran!

So I had the opportunity yesterday to hang out with some great friends in New Orleans yesterday and shoot a family lifestyle session with their new baby boy Ethan. We had such a blast and it was so good to get out of the office for the day and hang out with some friends. Here are just a couple images from their session, and I am starting to do more of these and if you are interested in one let me know! Blessings. Jason

PS... There might be a bit of photos from this shoot... I just couldn't narrow them down!
