If you know Ben you probabaly already know that he will be leaving in the next week Massachusetts for photography school at Hallmark. We had a little get together at my place this week and it was great to see everyone. Thanks so much to all who came out and here are a couple shots from the night…

Sean & Tory are married!

Sean & Tory had a beautiful wedding this past Saturday, with the ceremony at East Bayou and reception at River Oaks (Melissa from Flowers Etc. did a fantastic job on the flowers). Tory is originally from Las Vegas and it was great getting a chance to know her during the engagements in Dallas and up until the wedding. Luckily we were were able to miss the rain (see the first picture) and we had some incredible images from the day. We actually stopped on the way from the wedding to the reception which was awesome and got some of my favorite shots of the day. Here are just a couple…

Camera Club - The results!

First off let me just say thanks to everyone who came tonight to join us for the first “camera club.” I really had a great time meeting everyone and hearing about your passion for photography and learning. Sometimes it is nice to drop all of the formalities of the photography business and just talk with other people about their love for taking pictures. I hope that everyone comes out again next time and I will be keeping updates on the blog as soon as we decide all of the specifics. Thanks again everyone and here are a couple shots from tonight (I was in a black & white mood).

Join us for the first ever Camera Club meeting…

After talking to alot of people over the last couple months and I came up with the idea to have a “Camera Club” just to get together with other people who enjoy taking pictures. There are no requirements to come other than just that you have a passion for photography, not matter on what level you are at. Feel free and bring a camera or some pictures if you want to get some feedback or just come with yourself. It should be alot of fun and I am really hoping for a good turn out… So much that the I will buy drinks for the first 10 people who show up :)

Ben, I, & Bethany had the chance to head down to New Orleans to hang out with Corine, Beebe, & Ethan on Friday to spend a bit of time with them and get some new pictures of Ethan. We had a great time dodging the rain and this time headed south to get some pictures outside of the City. We almost got kicked out of the first location… Always an adventure… This is the last time Ben & I will be able to shoot with them before he leaves so I included him in a couple..

Random m8 shots of the week - New Orleans

I was down in New Orleans this weekend for the weekend and had the chance to shoot a bit of personal work while I was down there. The first image is of someone who Ben & I met at a coffee shop in the quarter. We probably sat and talked to him for over an hour about his life, his tattoos, Vietnam, and how agent orange had taken his leg. It was amazing to hear his story and his outlook on life. One thing that stuck with me was how he dealt with everything in loosing his leg. He said that he could not understand why people wait to really enjoy ever day until they had some sort of serious illness or major life altering event. For him loosing his leg just made him appreciate his life more. The first shot is one of Billy.

Coreil & Charlie’s Wedding!

This past weekend I had the chance to join my Cousin for her wedding in New Orleans. The entire day was beautiful and Charlie certainly is a lucky man! This one is a bit of a long post, but I knew that if I didn’t put more of her up than anyone else she might take me out of her will or something :) Congrats Coreil & Charlie!

Parish to Parish - New Orleans Area

First week with the D3 (yeah it’s a Nikon)

After dealing with some focusing problems in the last couple weeks with my Canon cameras I decided to give Nikon a bit of a try. Beebe Tran let me play with his D3 a bit this weekend and I decided to buy one this week to really put through the phases. I spent most of this week in the office but I did get a chance to shoot a bit of the people and things that are around me every day and here are a couple images. Hopefully after shooting this weekend I will be able to have some more feedback on the camera, but for now I am really liking it.

Hannah Stuart - City Club Wedding Coordinator

You might recognize Hannah’s name from my recommended vendors page as she was previously the wedding coordinator at Townhouse Restaurant & Catering. She has since moved to City Club and I am super excited for her. She is an outstanding events coordinator (not to mention a great friend). I wanted to put a quick post to say congrats to Hannah and also if you are looking for an venue for your wedding or reception City Club is an excellent choice.
